Our Proprietor’s Message

“The story of Minerva May School is deeply personal to me. My late grandmother, Minerva May, was a Headteacher who dedicated her life to ensuring that every child — no matter their circumstances — had access to education, care, and dignity.

As a young boy, I often accompanied her to school, carrying her bags filled with books, clothing, and food in support of her work — and helping to hand them out to children to make sure that no one went without. Those moments left a lasting impression on me and shaped my understanding of what it truly means to serve others through education.

My mother continued that same mission as a teacher and education leader, and it is their shared legacy that inspired my own journey in education. Establishing this school in my grandmother’s name is both a tribute and a promise — to honour her life’s work by empowering the next generation.

As Proprietor of Minerva May School, I am immensely proud of what we are building together — a nurturing, aspirational, and inclusive school where every young person is supported to realise their full potential.
