EXPECTATIONS FOR PARENTS/CARERS

In recognition of the vital role that parents and carers play in their children's learning and progress, we ask and expect all parents/carers to:

  • Uphold our core values and school policies to reinforce standards at home.

  • Ensure your child attends school regularly and arrives on time, informing the school of any absences by 9am on the day.

  • Follow school procedures for drop-off, pick-up, attendance, and communication.

  • Ensure your child is dressed in the correct uniform each day, knowing that students arriving in non-uniform may be sent home.

  • Establish with your child that prohibited items such as cigarettes, vapes, e-cigarettes, tobacco, lighters, and energy drinks must not be brought to school, and they will be confiscated if found.

  • Ensure mobile phones are handed in and placed in your child’s allocated locker upon arrival at school, or, if your child is likely to refuse, ensure they do not bring a phone to school.

  • Encourage your child to follow behaviour expectations and treat others with respect.

  • Encourage your child to respect school property and recognise that costs for persistent and wilful damage may be passed on to you (please refer to our Vandalism Re-Charge Policy).

  • Support your child’s learning by ensuring they complete home learning tasks and try their best to reach their full potential.

  • Help your child navigate the online world responsibly and safely.

  • Be attentive to your child’s emotional health and communicate any concerns to the school.

  • Ensure your child takes prescribed medications, following recommended dosages, or provide permission for the school to administer it as necessary.

  • Recognise that the school reserves the right to send a child home if they have not taken their prescribed medication or are unfit for school.

  • Provide at least two emergency contact numbers and be reachable during school hours, ensuring prompt collection if your child becomes unwell.

  • Maintain open communication with the school, addressing concerns and attending meetings to ensure the best outcomes for your child.

  • Treat school staff and the wider community with respect as part of daily communication, interaction, and engagement.
