Welcome to Minerva May School

“Nurturing independent learners who are prepared for adult life.”

Our Vision

A warm and heartfelt welcome to you; welcome to our website, which I'm so proud to share with you! I hope you find it informative and helpful, showcasing the fantastic opportunities we have on offer to your child.

Our school provides places and caters to up to 50 young people, referred from Surrey County Council and other local authorities. We are deeply dedicated to our vision of "nurturing independent learners who are prepared for adult life." This vision is upheld by the value we place on partnership and collaboration, evident in our school motto, "Together We Can."

“Together We Can.”

We provide learning and educational interventions to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Autism. The majority of our students have associated special educational needs, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech, language, and communication difficulties, as well as oppositional defiance and attachment disorders.

Our School Motto

We have developed a comprehensive, well-rounded, and personalised curriculum accessible to all children and young people, regardless of their past experiences, developmental challenges, and learning difficulties. All our students are expected to progress and achieve at a level appropriate to their abilities, and relative to their starting points with us at Minerva May School. They are encouraged to acquire skills, knowledge, attitudes, and qualifications necessary for further education, employment, and independence in adult life.

Through our curriculum, we foster the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development of our students. We promote British Values such as Democracy, The Rule of Law, Mutual Respect, Individual Liberty, and Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, ensuring our students develop into active citizens of their communities.

“Nurturing Independence in Learning and Life.”
